Dreem Teem
| 1987 saw the start of Mikee B's long-standing DJ career in the rare
groove, soul and funk nights of the era. But it was with the advent
of the rave scene as a whole new musical experience in 1989 that he
began to permanently make his mark. Joining forces with the friend
Jason Kaye, they formed the infamous Top Buzz, regarded as innovators
in the scene's progression from rave, to hardcore and into drum and
bass. Branching into production even then, their tune 'Living In Darkness'
became a club anthem. The Top Buzz name continues to thrive even today. |

When house and garage pushed it's way into the forefront,
Mikee B was an instrumental part. A man known as 'a master
of musical knowledge', he takes great pleasure in bringing
a crowd to a peak, making him a popular choice of DJ through
the country. A favorite on pirate radio, he hooked up with
Spoony and Timmi Magic to form the Dreem Teem in 1997, and
hasn't looked back since.
No-one could have predicted how far they would come and how
quickly. Their witty and entertaining style of radio presenting
led them from Kiss 100 FM to Galaxy and now in 2001, the dizzy
heights of Radio One.Their hectic DJ schedule has taken them
worldwide both individually and as a trio, their production
regularly entering the national charts, and DJ's for Life
their own label.

Mikee mixed the summer Ayia Napa 'Pure Silk Album' which continues
to sell well. Mikee B (known as 'Office Boy') is generally in charge
of the DFL label, handing all A and R, licensing and promotional
club distribution. He also controls the running of The Dreem Teem's
popular monthly club night @ 'Residency'. With many club nights
scheduled throughout the year following the main Radio One events,
it's a very busy time.
But as with Spoony, there's always time for his second love - football.
An avid Arsenal supporter, it was only due to a knee injury in school
that he didn't make the England team..... and Ian Wright did.
Spoony has not only dished up a whole new meaning to the title
"DJ" with his vast capability and experience in the art, but has
also turned the business upside down with his personality, panache
and perfection, making him not just a pretty face behind the decks.
He has already left a permanent mark in clubland internationally
as a member of The Dreem Teem (with Timmi Magic and Mikee B) and
also independently with his residency at Londons "Twice As Nice",
the mecca of underground clubbing. Added to this are non-stop bookings
at venues all over the UK and Europe including successive summers
in Ibiza and Ayia Napa. His busy schedule does not stop him from
completing a vast amount of charity work too, especially with children.
The media friendly DJ also crosses over into the world of television
too where Spoony can be heard as the narrator on Channel 4's music
show "Flava" in addition to appearances on LWT's "Club-a-Vision"
and "MTV". DJ Spoony's radio and presenting career has also gone
from strength to strength since the days of hosting his own show
on pirate station "London Underground".
|
|
He has become both daytime and specialist presenter on "Kiss
100 FM", combining his innovative djing style with his enthusiastic
chat with both listeners and celebrities alike such as Will
Smith, Spike Lee and Ian Wright to name but a few.
The national top 30 hit "Dreem Teem Theme" has lead to working
on a multiple of re-mixes from artists including Shola Ama,
All Saints, Faith Evans and most recently Neneh Cherry (being
released September '99). A must in every UK underground lovers
album collection have been "The Dreem Teem in Session Volumes
I and II" alongside Spoonys contribution to the "Twice As
Nice" compilation, an album so successful that its follow
up "Twice As Nice in Ayia Napa" will be released in September
'99.

| This is only a drop in the ocean for what there is to come, with
The Dreem Teem's own record label "Tremelo" and "DFL" up and running
adding to the strength of their own dj and artist agency, "DJ's For
Life" With all these fingers in the big pie of the industry it's no
wonder Spoony has received accolades from "Blues and Soul" magazine
being nominated for the "Best Radio DJ of '98" and at the prestigious
"MOBO awards" as part of The Dreem Teem for "Best Club DJ's of '98".
|
 |
In fact, a month doesn't seem to go by without his name cropping
up in features in magazines such as "The Face", "Arena","Elle"
and "Company", not forgetting Spoonys own journalistic skills
displayed in his column "Ear to the Underground", a regular
UK garage music bible in "Touch" magazine in addition to monthly
record reviews in "Muzik" magazine.
Is there any limit to the man who lends his name to a simple
piece of cutlery?(Ask him yourself where he obtained that
title!) Well, he's come a long way from playing in his mum's
kitchen and with all that talent and charisma under his belt
who knows where he may end up.

Oh, by the way, the football fanatic Spoony does fancy himself
as future manager of his beloved Liverpool FC as well.........you
read it here first!
A legendary DJ and Producer and one third of the hottest trio to
emerge in the 90's, Timmi Magic is the driving force behind both
The Dreem Teem and UK Garage movement. He is a pioneer in the radical
two step sound that has exploded in the UK over the last two years
and many credit him with being its founder. "I'd like to think I
am recognised for playing the vocal side of the UK Garage - but
it has to have a B line too! I firmly believe songs and melodies
are the future of British Garage Music.
|
|
As a DJ on the circuit from the rave days of '88/89', he
branched into the garage sound when in 1993 he became one
of the premier DJ's on the first ever pirate station Freek
FM. It was in 1997, whilst regularly playing no London Underground,
he met up with fellow DJ's Spoony and Mikee. They decided
to join forces to form The Dreem Teem who, from their earliest
days, have been instrumental in giving the UK a new sound
to call its own.
Timmi produced the Teem's first single, The Theme, which
reached the national charts in '97' and since then he has
also worked his own brand of magic on heavyweight remixes
for The All Saints, Destiny's Child, Sisqo, Glamma Kid, Shola
Ama and Amira. The latter part of '99' then saw The Dreem
Teem's reworking of the Neneh Cherry hit 'Buddy X' which became
a club anthem and reached No.15 in the national charts.

|
2000 saw some of the biggest remixes around, with the likes of
Amar feat. MC Ranking 'Sometimes it snows in April' remixed with
a style of dreem house all about it.
Timmi has recently formed 'Dreemhouse Productions' - his own production
team comprising of a number of high profile artists, producers and
engineers who have nearly completed building their studio suites.
Look out for the releases from them soon.

Now named as BBC Radio One's newest presenters with a three
hour daytime show every Sunday 10am - 1pm.
Also with a show dedicated to the UK garage scene they can
be heard from the hours of 1am - 4 am on Monday mornings.
Timmi and fellow teem members have a unique opportunity to
introduce UK Garage nationwide.
|
|
|
In addition to Timmi's hectic DJ schedule both here and abroad
he is currently in production with new established artists of all
musical genres, developing new material. He is also tucked away
working on the Dreem teem's latest album. With all this going on
it's no wonder he keeps missing his favourite TV programme 'Eastenders'!
Timmi Magic's career has already spanned a decade and has proved
beyond doubt that self-belief, coupled with ambition and natural
talent, are the magical elements needed to be the forefront of the
UK music industry.
