This is my bit, after two years of people moaning I have finally put a picture on. Ok so its no Denzil Washington, but give a man a break. !!! Todd Edwards - Don't Stop The Music. Interviewed live at Fifty First Recording Studios London. Todd Edwards - Full Biography. The official Todd Edwards story, courtesy of his home record label I Recordings USA. The Dreem Teem. Purveyors of the UK seminal freestyle UK Garage and Underground Dance music radio show on National Radio One Mikey B, Timmi Magic, DJ Spoony Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown. The other half of the legendary "Tuff Jam" recording stable. Matt Lamont is one of the longest serving and most successful DJ's on the UK Garage scene. Now a "SOLO" record producer. Check the "Jam" story, exclusive on ukgarage.com MJ Cole (Matt Coleman). Can't say much about MJ Cole that hasn't already been said. DJ, and one of the best producers to hit the Garage field ever. As one of the early exponents of the UKGarage scene from back in the day, Dominic Spreadlove has been there and seen it all. A lover of the musical sounds as you can tell by the milestone top five he has chosen, the Spreadlove mixes are always crowd pleasers. One of the instrumental members behind the UGA (along with Norris "Da Boss" Windross Jason Kaye and MC Creed) Dominic has firm beliefs about the future path UKGarage music should take. Watch the space for a forthcoming SpreadLove "State of the Nation" article. I know Francis well, and he is everything but the "Bad Boy". Any man who mentions his son in an interview is fine by me. A good purist DJ and now a recognised producer. At home with the 4 beats or the 2 step, Francis plays hard and plays to win. A UKGarage DJ from back in the day, and still playing at the top of the tree today. Look out for some of his own tracks on Well Built Recordings (Brasstooth's label), Solo (Matt "Jam" Lamont's label), and AMPM. What more can we say. The Artful Dodger crew have taken the UKGarage world by storm. Not the overnight success some may believe (anyone in the know was playing the Public Demand cuts for ages) but due to sound production and the ability to pen real songs, the Artful Dodger have touched the parts others will never reach. OK, anyone who knows me knew I was waiting for this one. Even more so than "Todd Edwards" (and it takes a lot for me to say that about anyone) one man can told the title up "Garage King of the UK" for all to see. Grant Nelson took the best garage sounds of the US many moons ago and in many cases bettered it. He still does now, and has stood the test of time. A real songwriter, a real Producer, and not a bad DJ too. If ever you lose sight of how Garage Music is supposed to sound, or what your supposed to feel - tune into a Grant Nelson remix. Please, please also check www.wyze.com Grant has put many of his drum loops, and keyboard sequences (wow, the keys, the keys) as Real Audio and MP3 downloads. They wont be there forever, make sure you check them out. "Sisters are doing it for themselves". UKGarage has allowed many female DJs to break through. DJ Jolie has worked hard and played hard to make her presence felt. A sound outlook with a confident DJ manner, watch this space 2001 could be DJ Jolie's year. |
